Admission Forms

St Lawrence handles its own in-year admissions - see our School Managed Application Form (SMA) below. If you would like to apply for a place in these year groups, please read the guidance notes carefully to make sure you are completing the correct form. For example, if your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you should not complete our form but contact the Local Authority Special Educational Needs team.

Year 3 intake - information specific to this year group

As St Lawrence is an all though school, we do not have a specific intake in Year 3. Therefore, if you have a Year 2 child at an infant school, and are looking for a Year 3 place for the following September, we are required to treat all applications in the same way as any other in-year application and cannot make a decision regarding places for September until four weeks before the end of the Summer term.  This means that this year we can only accept applications from 24th June 2024 for a September 2025 start.

If you would like to express an interest in a Year 3 place from September 2025 at St Lawrence, please phone the school office who will be happy to give you further advice.

Early Years

Children are able to start at St Lawrence Primary School in the September after their 4th birthday, but do not need to start until the beginning of the term following their 5th birthday. This is the statutory school age. There are "cut-off" dates for each term. If your child's 5th birthday comes between:

  1. 1st April and 31st August
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Autumn Term in September
  2. 1st September and 31st December
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Spring Term in January
  3. 1st January and 31st March
s/he must start school at the beginning of the Summer Term in April

All children whose 4th birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August will be eligible to apply for a full time place in Reception at a Surrey school for the following September. Parents may request to defer their child’s entry to Reception until later in the school year, but this will not be agreed beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Parents may also request for their child to start part time, until their child reaches statutory school age.

Waiting Lists

Pupils registered on the St Lawrence waiting list will be kept on file until the end of the school year.  Please inform the school in writing if you wish your child to remain on the waiting list for the following year.
